The Solar Impulse Foundation of the famous Bertrand Piccard, who flew around the world in a solar plane, awards us their prestigious label “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution”.
The foundation set itself the challenge of selecting 1000 cost-effective solutions that protect the environment in order to encourage decision-makers to adopt more ambitious environmental and energy policies.
To receive the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” label, the HpO® solution was thoroughly evaluated by a group of independent experts according to 5 criteria covering the three main themes of feasibility, environment and cost effectiveness. All labelled solutions are part of the #1000solutions portfolio which will be presented to corporate and government decision-makers by Bertrand Piccard, President of the Solar Impulse Foundation. The aim of this initiative is to encourage the adoption of more ambitious environmental objectives and to accelerate the implementation of these solutions on a large scale.
With HpO® Altereo positions itself on the theme of the Water-Energy-Climate nexus
Indeed, HpO® is an approach that makes it possible to reduce the number of leaks in the future by targeted replacement of pipes and to reduce the duration of leaks in the future by targeted leak detection. Reducing leakage preserves water resources and at the same time consumes less electricity to produce and treat water and thus emits less CO2 into the atmosphere, especially in countries where the electricity mix is predominantly dependent on fossil fuels. Reducing leakage also means acting for the climate.
HpO® has great potential both in France and internationally. The latest project, for example, consists of deploying the technology in the Kampala agglomeration in Uganda.
