Christian founded Altereo in 1989 after having graduated with an Engineering degree from the French Public Works School (Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics). Having acquired experiences in public works firms, in water distribution firms, and in local municipalities, he was able to create the first firm within the group with the objective of proposing consultancy and technical assistance to territorial collectivities in the water sector.
Christian is at present the primary ambassador for Altereo within institutional circles in the Water Sector in France. He is president of the French Water Cluster. He is an administrator of the French Engineering Federation (Syntec Ingénierie), the French Scientific and Technical Association for Water and Environment (Association Scientifique et Technique pour l’Eau et l’Environnement, or ASTEE) and the competitivity hub AQUAVALLEY for which he is also one of the founders. He is a French Foreign Trade Advisor since 2007 and a regular member of the Management Progress Association (Association Progrès du Management, or APM).
Holder of an Engineering Degree from the Ecole Centrale de Paris and an MBA from INSEAD, Gilles held various managerial responsibilities in the telecommunications sector for over twenty-five years.
Gilles joined Altereo in early 2018 during the transition period of the company. He currently holds the position of Managing Director of Altereo, his primary mission being the continued promotion of growth of the Group and the identification of opportunities in France and abroad.
Engineer specialised in Hydraulics and Environment and graduate of Polytech Montpellier, Jean-François has over 30 years of experience working in consulting firms. With a solid background of managing technical as well as scientific projects, owing to his competences, he heads the R&D and Innovation division of the company.

Patrick has accumulated 30 years of experience in business development roles in printing and informatics service firms. He has been in charge since 2002 of the commercialisation of solutions created by Altereo Informatique and also manages the development of the Group in francophone Africa.
Christophe Torrente – Administrative and Financial Director, associate
With a legal and financial background (Law and Certified Accounting), Christophe started his career in 1990 working in the financial services of SAUR Nimes. He then managed several accounting and financial positions within sectors as diverse as building, enterprise consulting, agrifood and textile. He joined Altereo in 2013.
Paul-Henri Roux – Directeur RH et Communication, associé
With a diploma in the water sector (1988) from Montpellier University and a degree in enterprise management from the Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management (IAE Aix-en-Provence), Paul-Henri organised the Hydrotop Exhibition in Marseille from 1990 to 2001, and was the Business Development Director of Nymphea Water from 2001 to 2005. After a year of experience at a Communications firm, he joined Altereo in 2006.
Engineering graduate of the National Institute of Applied Sciences (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées, or INSA) in Toulouse, Kevin joined Altereo in 2005. Kevin has worked his 15 year career at Altereo, and has acquired proficiency in Hydraulic Engineering studies, water service audits and asset management. Along with his role as consultant-expert, he also manages business development activities and is director of the marketing department of Altereo.
1.85% of the shares of Altereo are held by its Directors and the remaining 15% by the IXO funds.
